Once we’ve identified that something needs to get done, that something needs to change, or that there is something we would like to create, we will typically do what we can to set it in motion. Sometimes, as soon as we start a new project, it flows effortlessly. Everything seems lined up and in place and it all comes so easily. Other times… not so much.
Why Only Sometimes?
Life is full of synchronicities. When we have a “job” to do, we love it when things just fall into place. Everything lines up perfectly in order to make it happen. In a \”perfect\” world, this would happen to us all of the time. It would always be so easy to just “go with the flow”. Events and people would just line up to connect seamlessly. And because we were all tuned in and following our highest and best path, all the events that occurred would be wonderfully enriching experiences.
But, unfortunately, sometimes that is not the case. Sometimes it is we, ourselves, that are not tuned in enough to get the message. And sometimes, even though we may have gotten the right message at the time, other people may not have. Sometimes we have to wait on other people, or things, to transpire before we can experience the event we so desire. This can be very challenging indeed.
Setting it all up
Here on the tumultuous earth plane, sometimes things take a little longer to “set up”. Not every day is a clear sunny day with absolutely no interference to your own journey or to others on their own path. And it\’s not always anyone\’s \”fault\”.
Think about an ocean; on a day when it’s quite windy and wavy, it’s not so easy just to swim over to another boat, or to pull your boat up alongside someone else’s. It’s rocky. It’s wavy. It’s a bit scary. You could fall in. You could get crushed between the boats. It’s hard to navigate because the waves are quite high.
But on a calm day – everything seems so easy. We glide up to another boat, stand on the deck in the morning sunshine, and have a wonderful exchange. And when we’re done visiting, we just cast off to another destination, breathing in that crisp, clear ocean air as we go.
We all have some important projects to do. But because we may have set out on a day where there was stormy seas, maybe we got a bit lost, or our “partners” couldn’t show up. Maybe they got tossed and turned and set off course. Maybe they took one look at the ocean and said.. not today. I’ll wait it out. Or maybe, god forbid, they tried and they fell in and drowned. This all happens. Navigating these waters is not always easy. But we try. And we learn. And before long we develop some skills that assist us in this journey.
We learn to swim. We learn to navigate better. And we learn to check the weather before setting out.
Translation:
- SWIM: We learn how to handle ourselves in a variety of different situations. A good motto is: \”Always be learning. Always be growing. Always be developing skills.\” You don\’t always know when that \”thing\” you spent so much time learning 10 years ago will come in useful. Quite often it does. In the strangest of circumstances.
- NAVIGATE: We set goals and priorities for ourselves and find some guideposts and assistance as to how to meet them. Even if we only take one small step at a time, we evaluate that step based on whether is it helpful in working towards our ultimate objective(s).
- CHECK THE WEATHER: We pay attention to our surroundings. We learn how to receive and interpret external information. From this we are better able to take opportunities when presented, and to stay away from things that don\’t appear opportune.
Take Shelter During the Storms.
We do not generally CAUSE the stormy seas all by ourselves. Weather happens. Sometimes, yes, there are things that we can do that would make the situation less stormy. Which might be a good idea. But sometimes it is enough to simply find calmer waters. To wait out the storm. Go find some beautiful harbours to hang out in while the storm passes. In order to keep our focus, it is always a good idea to acknowledge that it is JUST a passing storm. The sun will come out. And we will live to radiate another day.
While we are waiting out the storm, we might as well focus on activities that will prepare us for that inevitable day when the sun comes back out. This does take patience. And perseverance But there are many things that we can do to pass the time that would provide enrichment and enjoyment. We can learn to appreciate hot chocolate, for example, and maybe learn to play an instrument or two. Focus on activities we are drawn to that maybe push our boundaries a bit.
Good Advice:
- It is generally better to wait for that wave of inspiration before you act upon something. Knowing what it is you want to do is a wonderful first step in achieving something. The second, but equally important piece, is getting the timing right.
- Always have more than one project you\’re working on, or event you are preparing, or skill that you are learning, so that you can switch back and forth when the weather is \”not right\”. Or spend that quiet time studying and preparing yourself for that inevitable day when you will be thrust into the spotlight and put to the test. In a good way.
Get Out and Experience the \”Ocean\” on the Calmer Days
Yet, when that storm is over, it is equally important that we DO go out onto the \”sea\” and discover what is there for us. This is where most of the sychronicities happen – out in the open. This is where you will meet like-minded people. This is where you will feel supported. This is where your skills and knowledge will be tested. And this is where your growth will be accelerated.
When we go out into the world and pursue our dreams, sometimes things don\’t work out perfectly initially. But when they do, there is nothing that can compare to that feeling of satisfaction that we had the courage to go forward, and we were able to acheive.
A great place to start on this journey is in Developing Our Intuition. Why? Because the more tapped in we are to the ever-expanding universe, the more insights and ideas we can receive and respond to, the more connections we will make with others, and the more smoothly our lives will flow.
This link provided goes into greater depths about how important our intuition is and what you can do to work with it more. Enjoy
